Toe Socks

How hard can it be to find toe socks for your daughter?

Boy... we tried to find some for Jessi a year or so ago but we could only find adult sizes. You would think they'd come in smaller sizes!! Another thing I haven't been able to find her is a slip! Can you believe it? I asked at Sears and they said they don't sell 'em any more. I checked the Bon Ton and another couple of stores. Still no slip!!

Well, Shelly can knit so maybe she can MAKE toe socks and, Priscilla, you can sew, right?

I found a web site that sells toe socks for kids...but they cost $14 a piece, plus shipping. For a pair of socks? I don't think so!

Too bad I got rid of my toe socks. I had a bunch of 'em for a while. Maybe they're just not "in" anymore.

And I can't believe they don't sell slips anymore. What are they thinking?

No slips??? That is so strange! I don't get it!

We all had a pair of toe socks when we were kids. Maybe when it gets closer to Christmas you'll find some. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

I've done socks before- but never toe socks! What a bear that would be!! And unfortunately the yarn costs more than it would be to just buy the socks. But let me tell you homemade socks are the BEST!!! They are comfy and oh so warm. Great for outdoor sports in the winter (not that I go outdoors in the winter but if I HAD to they are wonderful) or for slippers. I suppose you could even make some nice dressy socks though I've never made those either. Just cost too much for what you get!!

I found toe socks at Target. They were women's size 4-?, without a designated heel sewn in. Since Audra wears 3 1/2, I figured it would work. She wanted some for herself...but also to give her best friend for a birthday present. (Sarah wears 3 1/2 too)

That is crazy that you can't find a slip! That's just wrong!

Wow! Check out the Orkney Angora socks and legs warmers. Now those are some expensive socks!

Heather LOVED the socks!! She likes over the knee or thigh length socks - the wilder and crazier the better.

Angora is always rediculously expensive!! I told Brett we could make our millions if only we'd turn our barn into a giant angora rabbit hutch. He wasn't too keen on the idea...

Did I say barn? LOL. I meant garage... :)

Hey cool sock site! Looks like a good place for crazy Christmas presents. Thigh high and over the knee... very "fashionable."

I can't imagine wearing those little socks between my toes.

I hated those socks.... I wore them but I just did it because my friends did... no slips? that is maddning..... what about the high end stores.... i know they are more spending, but.....

Toe socks always made my toes cold in the winter. And, I'm with you IM1, I only wore them because my friends did. They're really just a novelty item. Fun for a little while but not all that practical. Kind of like ear muffs.

They were cool, but not too comfy.

Actually...I loved my ear muffs when I lived in Potsdam, NY!! Everyone on campus wore them...not because they were stylish...but because when it is negative 10 degrees, your ears can quite literally freeze! It was a whole different world up there in the winter!

When I moved back to Rochester...I stopped wearing them and 15 degrees seemed quite balmy!
