Wedding at Garrett Chapel

Towards the end of June we went to a wedding at this little Chapel located on Keuka Lake. It was built in the 1930's by a family named Garrett. They built it in memory of their son who died of tuberculosis in his early 20's.The details of the chapel are amazing. The family wanted it built reminiscent of the old styles of Europe.
The view of Keuka Lake from the porch is beautiful. The Chapel is surrounded by beautiful stone paths, stairways and a waterfall.
Congratulations David and Karen!

What a pretty little building. I bet it was a beautiful place to take wedding pictures. I wonder how many little hideaways are tucked along the hills of the Finger Lakes?

I don't know. I never knew this place existed before being invited to the wedding.

Amazing! I had never heard of this, either. What a marvelous setting for a wedding! It is beautiful!!!!!!

Martha is right. I would venture to say there are all sorts of wild places here and there....seems a great deal of money sits here in the Finger Hills Region!

Actually...I guess it is open for the public to visit as long as it isn't being used for anything in particular. They have a web site. Just google "Garrett Chapel Keuka Lake."
