And so it begins...

I've been tagged by T. What could I possibly say about myself that I haven't said on subsequent lists of arbitrary facts? Who knows? I am not that interesting of a person. I'm taking this opportunity to update on what is going on with me in regards to going to grad school.

Here goes:

  1. I am planning on getting a Master's Degree in school library science enabling me to be a school librarian.

  2. In order to begin grad work at Mansfied University, I must currently hold a valid teacher certificate.

  3. Mine expired in 1999.

  4. I am in the process of recertifying.

  5. It could take an entire semester to do this...thereby delaying grad work until the fall 2008.

  6. I'm waiting for an official transcript evaluation.

  7. From what I can figure out on my own is this. I need to take 3 exams. Take a course in special education. Go to 2 seminars about child abuse and school violence. And get fingerprint clearance.

  8. I'm really excited about starting the library program. I think it is a great fit for me!!!

This is a great list. I'm glad you have found a direction in which to travel, a goal to reach for, and a purpose for which to strive. Once you are a librarian I can ask you to help me find rare and hard to find books.

It's great to have a plan! (You already know that--teachers always plan!) You have your work cut out for you, but it will be SO worthwhile!

Yes, Priscilla, we should have coffee together!
I could do Monday or Tuesday?
Or after Thanksgiving!
I am at CBS, too, but we pass 'like ships in the night'...haha
