Passing it on the the Children
Well...I guess I'm slowly adapting to a quieter life with the kids off to school. I made sure I did some work so as to feel useful around here. Gotta earn my keep! LOL!
Allen is very busy with the Cross Country team at his school. He seems to like it a lot. Alicia is taking Viola lessons at school starting on Monday. Audra has volunteered to be kindertgarten helper at the end of the school day. I think this makes her feel good about herself. Community Bible Study starts on Wednesday.
Awana started this past Wednesday. Audra is already working at memorizing her Bible verses for T&T(Truth & Training). Alicia graduated to T&T from Sparks and is looking forward to getting her book. We took Makaela...our next door neighbor to Awana. She doesn't go to church with her family. Sometimes she comes with us. Soon her brother will come to Awana as well...but right now, he has something else on Wednesdays. I feel like they are my ministry. Every morning they come to get on the bus. I always say a prayer with my girls and so I've included them. They are getting used to this routine. Hopefully I can build working on our verses into our routine in the morning...because I doubt Makaela will get a lot of that at her house.
By the way...I don't know this little "Sparks" boy. I searched Creative Commons on Flicker and found it. It just reminds me about what it's all about. Teaching kids to Praise the Lord!

That picture is so wonderful!
How nice that your little neighbor can come with you to Awana! Michael asked a friend to go to VBS when he was in 3rd grade and his mother wouldn't allow it. He asked him to go to Wildlife last year and again he hasn't been allowed to go. I think that's so sad.
Amen to your good works!! You never know the difference you can make in a child's life by just something as simple as introducing morning prayer.
You definitely have a ministry. God bless you.
That is so great Scilly!! Having a ministry with children is the best kind. They have there whole lives ahead of them, and you have the opportunity to point them in the right direction. I love the Awana program...and I love you morning prayers...love it!!
Awana is a great program. I'm glad your kids enjoy it so much.
Heather and I used to lead Sparks together. Nathan and Chemey were both Sparkies back then... The next year I was demoted to Cubbies which actually was a lot of fun too.
Yes, Martha and I did do Sparkies together! It was much fun. I love the way they soak everything up and I never get tired of listening to them saying a Bible verse. It is an awesome program. Our Awana is starting next week!
It is so wonderful that you are ministering to your neighbors! God will bless you for that, not to mention what your kids are learning by watching you!
Nice photo! See you tomorrow!
I haven't seen you in a long time!!
I guess Heather went to Awanas... but to be honest, I know nothing about it! When I was a kid I was in Missionettes. I remember memorizing 1 Corinthians 13 for it.
I remember Heather coming to Awana! I would always remember teaching someone with such a lovely name!
