Read Aloud

Every year I put books in the kids' Easter baskets. This year I put The Secret Garden in Alicia's basket. I am reading it out loud to her since the language is a little old fashioned and sometimes difficult for her to grasp. We are on chapter 6! I just love this book. A wonderful story!

I love The Secret Garden too. And Alicia is the perfect age for reading aloud to. It makes great mom/kid together time. I miss reading to Ben and Hannah.

Do you think boys would like it?
I love recommendations for kids' books.

Have you ever read, By the Great Horn Spoon? We just listened to that on CD and loved it! About the California gold rush. Loved it!

While all my friends were reading the Secret Garden and raving about it, I was reading Rainbow Garden by Patricia M. St. John instead. I've never read Secret Garden. I've seen the movie.

Tracy,
I remember that Martha had a copy of Rainbow Garden when we were kids. I don't think I ever read it.

Stacy,
I'll keep that suggestion in mind. I think boys would like this story just fine.

My kids still like to read books together, even though we haven't in a while now. Michael was just mentioning it last week.

I used to read to my kids every night!! Where did the time go?
Now Melissa reads herself (and me, too!)
You are a good mother!
