A Fresh Path

It's a brand new year. What will it bring? Are you into New Year's Resolutions? Usually I am not...but this year I am. Do you know that saying that goes something like this: "If you aim at nothing, you will hit it 100% of the time"? That's kind of what I feel my life has been like for the last year or so. So I am changing my aim and aiming at something...rather than nothing. I have a new path to walk down this year.

An update on my plans: I have made a final decision to go to the University of Buffalo. Renewing my teacher certification was going to be more of an expense, time consuming and pain in the neck than I cared to take. So I will be getting a whole new teacher certification with School Library as my concentration. I have started the rough outline of an essay and have found one person who has agreed to write a letter of recommendation. I have another person in mind to ask. (I need 2) My submitted application needs to be in by March 1st. If all goes according to plan, I will start my grad courses in the summer. I'm planning on attending school full time. I don't see any need to drag my heels with this. That will be 2 courses this summer and 4 in the fall. Then we'll see from there.

And of course I have the usual promises....get rid of clutter, have a meaningful quiet time every day, get more exercise, eat better...(yawn). I always seem to start out well with these sorts of things and then...you know. How about you? Do you have any new goals or resolutions this year?

Oh....Happy New Years everybody!

Clutter...Oh yes...I need to work on that one. I started a box for the Goodwill...I need to fill it real fast, maybe two or three.

Well, other than doing the geneological thing I blogged about, my plans are in a holding pattern until after Carl meets with the Neurosurgeon Jan 21st. Then depending on his plans I will firmate mine for moving.

"If you aim at nothing, you will hit it 100% of the time." I like the quote.
I "aim" to get my house de-cluttered. Actually, I feel like over the last half year or so there's been some progress made, and I hope to keep the momentum going. But it took many years to get this way, so I know it won't get done in a day--or even a month!

I'm not sure I can handle any new grand and glorious plans, so I aim to keep plodding on until the Lord changes my path. Besides, since I haven't been feeling like myself the past few days (headaches) and have a wedding to attend in NJ tomorrow evening, I am having a hard time thinking of anything new.

All that said, I'm glad you have a goal and a plan to meet it. Let me know if and when you need help with the kids.

On second thought, I do intend to write a book or two this year, Christmas gifts for my family. They won't be too long, more like children's books. I'm thinking that Mom and Dad's childhood experiences will make great keepsakes. All I need is an illustrator... Oh yeah, and the story.

That sounds like a great idea. Martha. I want to see them when you are done!
