This is one of the Finger Lakes here in NY state. We live on one of the Finger Lakes...but not this particular one. They are all very pretty.
Soon this Lake will be frozen over and there will be ice fishermen out there. I've never been icefishing. I don't think it would be appealing to me, but there are some "die hard" fishermen who get up at the crack of dawn to make a hole in the ice and sit there waiting for the fish to bite. Some of them even make little huts.

Yes, and some of them have been known to drink milkshakes while fishing (as if just being out there wasn't cold enough!).
Brrr, that looks cold!

Oh, now your Skaneateles Snowman photo has made you a celebrity. Well, your family anyway.
Looks beautiful, and cold.
I'd like to visit Skaneateles sometime. I drove through it once and it looked very interesting... Maybe next summer.

I love your new banner photo. i'm kind of curious to try ice fishing once, but I doubt that I would be tempted to be a regular at it.
If I had known the celebrity status I would receive, I would have made sure I was in the picture too!
You know you live in such a lovey place. Nothing even comes close to what I see at your blog in our valley. I'm not complaining....I just think you part of the world is wonderful.
Priscilla, I wish you a Merry Christmas!
It certainly is very pretty.
I don't think ice fishing sounds very appealing either.
its a good thing we didn't fall into the lake, catch hypothurmra? and die
