Conklin Gully

We went hiking in the Conklin Gully with some friends last week. Conklin Gully is quite a beautiful place to hike and a workout! Sherman loved the water in the creek.
You can't tell from this photo...but that is a very impressive view of the BIG cliffs at the top. It is kind of scary at the top because there are no guard rails. Just a sheer drop off. Sherman made me nervous because he went right up to the edge! It freaks me out looking at something like that thinking...."Yow! If I fell down there, I would be killed." Not a pleasant thought.

We had a snack and some drinks at the top. It was quite a hot day. Toward the end of the hike, we went down in the gully and it was so pleasantly cool. I'll post more pictures tomorrow. Pictures here from left to right. Allen, Alicia, Elise, Audra, Sherman, and Luc.

Now this is something very interesting!! Looks like you had a great time and I love Sherman in the water. I'm afraid of heights, I get this funny dizzy feeling and feel like I'm tipping over the edge. No guard rails precludes my not going at all!! T is 'trong, you is brave.

Hi. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog.
I just had a look at your blogs. I love your watercolours.
I see that you live in New York...but then I don't really match the picture of your house with New York. My only vision of what New York is like is what I have seen on TV, ie. cityscape.
I love the photo of your lab in the water too. We have a golden lab as well. He is 13 now, and has slowed down considerably.
I'll drop by again and see what you have been up to.

Gudl, it is in Naples. It would be fun to hike it together.

Hi Jenny, New York is the name of a state...and New York is also the name of a city. I live in NY state. The city of NY happens to be in the state of NY. NY city is about a 6 hour drive from here. The first time I ever went to NY city, I was about 21 years old. Even then I didn't get out to walk around...just drove through it.

I live in an area of the state that has a lot of farmland, lakes, woods, trees, country. If you check out Gudl's blog, she has captureds it very beautifully. She lives near me. So has my sister, Martha (on my links).

I looked online and found there are several interesting places to hike near Canandaigua Lake. I need to do some serious hiking. Take me too!
